Responsibilities
Principal accountabilities:
- To produce monthly forecasts of the material spend for the next month and the next quarter. This requires evaluation of each programme delivery status and modelling the associated spend patterns and transients.
- To monitor the actual spend against previous forecasts and analyse major differences. Ongoing reconciliation of the actual spend to the budget and forecast spend is required, along with rationalisation of major deviations.
- Monitoring attrition levels.
- To produce the annual BAC material budget for all contracts. This involves utilising information from Procurement, Programmes and Contracts, and extracting stock, WIP and lead-time data from the MAXIM system.
- To monitor the Utilised Assets trends. A governance process must be implemented to track the levels of utilised assets, set targets for the same, and report the monthly status to management.
- To provide various system and BUM analysis capabilities for other functions, both internal and external to the Department. Fulfilling the above material spend and utilised asset functions requires significant data analysis and system knowledge. This service is often required for miscellaneous analyses for other functions (e.g. Methods, Procurement, BTS etc.).
- To assist in the development and implementation of new systems designed to improve the efficiency of Work and Material Planning
