The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Communications Specialist to join its defense business in Hazelwood, MO.
This role will support leader, employee, brand and select program communications for Boeing’s Phantom Works division, based in St. Louis.
Phantom Works supports classified government programs and advanced innovation for the future of defense. Daily activities will include partnering with business teams to identify internal and external storytelling opportunities; developing written, video and digital content featuring flight / technology demonstrations and never-before-seen innovation and capabilities; working closely with leadership, Human Resources (HR), employee engagement and business operations to communicate effectively across the Phantom Works organization; updating web and digital content; coordinating with Communicators across Boeing Defense to collectively tell stories about Phantom Works innovation; and, collaborating with communicators across internal/external, media relations, web, social media, trade shows and more to execute across all appropriate channels for any given story.

Position Responsibilities:
Creates communication plans and branding strategies that are tailored to support enterprise and/or business unit goals and objectives
Supports the development of strategies and tactics to connect strategic target audiences to those objectives and goals while positively impacting Boeing business results, policies, or employee and/or leadership initiatives
Produces content for Boeing internal and external communications channels, as well as co-spaneting activities including digital, print and video
Promotes stories to local, national and trade media and handles media inquiries about business unit activities
Develops, seeks and uses advanced techniques for internal and external communications and branding
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of Communications experience (including, but not limited to: corporate communications, news media, public relations, spaneting or advertising)
Excellent video skills (filming and editing)
Excellent writing skills
A background in content development and storytelling
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal business partners
Experience working in a fast-paced, self-driven, deadline-driven environment
Strong project management skills
Experience at a large matrixed organization, or working and collaborating across multiple teams for any given project
Basic understanding of defense or high-tech industries, military customers and/or start-up cultures
Experience supporting classified environments or programs

Summary pay range: $80,750 - $109,250
