This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
- Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines.
- Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering,industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions andcoordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required.
- Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, ands ystems for production by applying production engineering principles.
- Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects.
- Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff.
Required Qualifications:
- 5-9 years of experience (OR a Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
- High School Diploma or GED
- High level of understanding of composites and manufacturing
- Experience with Continuous improvement
- Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn
- High level understanding of composite fabrication and manufacturing
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, navigate through 3-D engineering models)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required. Industry experience a plus.
- SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily
- Manufacturing/shop floor experience is a preferred.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience
- Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements
Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $71,750 - $110,000
