Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician/Electrician for a long-term, full-time role focused on modifying, repairing, and maintaining military aircraft, specifically focusing on electronic warfare aircraft. This opportunity involves performing modifications for weight reductions and avionics equipment upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Build, install, and remove wire harnesses using knowledge of electrical theory and aircraft wiring.
- Test, terminate, and troubleshoot wiring using testing equipment.
- Document work according to blueprints and schematics.
- Collaborate with general mechanics, structures mechanics, and inspectors.
- Assist in various Powerplant, Airframe, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), and mechanical duties.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience on the F/A-18 or EA-18G aircraft in systems such as RADAR, ECM, AEA, or COMMNAV.
- Experience with avionics software on F18/EA18G.
- Experience with weapons systems including ALQ-99 pods.
- Eligibility for SECRET clearance.
- Eligibility for Boeing badge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optics is preferred.

Work Environment
This role is based on the Whidbey Naval Air Station and operates during the day shift from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Shifts are 8 hours long. Work takes place inside hangars and on the flightline, mostly indoors and not exposed to the elements. Tools are provided.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
