About the Opportunity:
Join our client, a leader in the aviation industry, as a Senior Avionics Technician based in Waterbury/Oxford, CT (OXC). This full-time role places you at the forefront of avionics technology, shaping the future of aviation maintenance and repair. With extensive experience in Honeywell Apex systems and Garmin avionics products, you will lead innovative avionics projects, provide mentorship to junior technicians, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations. This position is perfect for a seasoned technician ready to elevate their career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing significantly to a diverse array of modern turbine and antique general aviation aircraft.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and install advanced avionics systems including GPS, NAV/COM, ADS-B, autopilot, SATCOM, EFIS, with precision.
Lead and Innovate: Drive major installations, modifications, and STC upgrades in line with FAA and manufacturer guidelines.
Utilize Expertise: Employ specialized tools and diagnostic equipment like multimeters and BITE testers for systems analysis.
Interpret Technical Data: Work accurately from wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering data.
Ensure Compliance: Adhere to FAA regulations, complete work orders and logbooks accurately, and uphold safety standards.
Guide and Mentor: Train, guide, and oversee junior technicians, reviewing their work for quality assurance.
Facilitate Operations: Collaborate with flight crews and maintenance teams, focusing on discrepancy resolution and avionics systems readiness.
Support in the Field: Provide proactive AOG support and maintenance in various settings.
Requirements:
FAA A&P License with 5+ years of experience preferred.
US Driver’s License with a clean record.
Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces.
Commitment to maintain a comprehensive toolset.
Willingness to travel for short durations in the Caribbean, Southeast, and Northeast.
Strong understanding of navigation, communication, and flight control systems across the fleet.
Physical dexterity for tool and part handling.
