Essential Responsibilities
Work with global engineering teams to understand advanced technologies and their implications on next generation products.
Conduct design studies of appropriate fidelity and project analysis with minimal guidance, meeting business standards and requirements.
Lead cross-functional teams to balance financial and engineering goals, including designers, engineers, and analysts. Create plans to meet technical needs, solve problems, and report status to leadership.
Utilize business and organization best practices and design practices. Ensure study outcomes are properly documented.
Own the externals configuration for preliminary design architecture studies, including weight roll-ups and component sizing/locations, to support successful execution of program deliverables
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Support externals architecture/configurations reviews and audits as required for customer commitments and design space studies
Support the development and integration of design tools to advance state of the art of the discipline and enables design space exploration and study optimization
Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and / or tasks
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited University or College
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing position

Prior experience in product configuration within aerospace or related industries
Prior experience with aircraft engine external system design including fuel, air, oil, and electrical systems
Experience estimating weight, cost, and design parameters early in engine development programs
Experience with Unigraphics NX or similar CAD program
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
Prior experience leading global cross-functional teams
Problem analysis and resolution skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
