Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prioritise safety in all manufacturing and test processes to ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead and manage the implementation and optimisation of manufacturing engineering systems and technologies
- Develop and integrate systems to streamline production processes and enhance efficiencies measured against agreed KPIs
- Support development and delivery of value stream and site TPM methodology
- Collaborate cross functionally to develop a site wide manufacturing technology strategy (MGMP)
- Oversee the execution of testing provision to ensure product quality and reliability
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Test Engineering team to drive Test Equipment performance, implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive accuracy and equipment availability
- Manage costs effectively to achieve financial targets within area of responsibility
- Escalation points for value stream aligned issues through site daily management (BUCC, PCC)
- Budget definition and control for value stream aligned responsibilities i.e. tools and supplies, ME headcount
- CAPEX owner for value stream aligned projects
- Collaborate with Head of ME on overall shop support and future manufacturing strategy
Required Qualifications:
This role requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering, systems management, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
- Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent capability and knowledge gained through time served in manufacturing engineering or related fields.
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to implement and sustain lean practices to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Familiarity with lean principles such as Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Characteristics:
- Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Lean Manufacturing certifications.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and challenges.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
