Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the wellbeing, load, capacity and execution of a team of Manufacturing Test Engineers.
- Exercise the required supervisory responsibilities relating to PPG, career & professional development, recruitment, and training.
- Actively drive for team development and growth, promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and data / analytical led decision making through the application of specific KPI’s and FLIGHT DECK tools.
- Act as a mentor for junior MTEs.
- Ensure right sized support structure to support all in service test equipment to achieve delivery commitments, deliver safe and ergonomic test systems and validated test process specifications to ensure integrity of design is met.
- Assess technical debt associated with all test equipment, work alongside TE sustainment group to resolve open concerns
- Develop use of maturity and risk mitigation tools such Manufacturing Readiness Level and Production Readiness Assessments. Use the data generated to drive improvement projects.
- Be cognisant of relevant FTR reviews. Proactively assess test systems and ancillary equipment against future rate and longevity requirements.
- Develop DFT guidelines with the MTE team for deployment to design engineering group
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Background in engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
Desirable Characteristics:
- Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Lean Manufacturing certifications.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and challenges.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
