SUMMARY:
Provide the technical interface between the customer and PCC Structurals – Aluminum Operations. Manage the daily technical issues, understand product end use and material constraints, define internal requirements necessary to produce the product and address any customer technical concerns if a product fails to meet expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the startup of multiple new parts from blue print receipt to delivery.
- Manage the actualization of customer changes and revisions.
- Write instructions for production of new parts.
- Track sample castings, initiate corrections and adjustments required in a timely manner.
- Modify instructions and/or write tool order to correct and improve parts.
- Manage the daily technical issues as appropriate to ensure a consistent and reliable product.
- Define and approve process items necessary to meet the product material and end use property constraints.
- Communicate with customers and the Sales department on the status of new parts.
- Maintain an ongoing technical interface via technical meetings and discussions with customer.
- Perform necessary technical evaluations to address any customer concern. Investigate claims and document findings.
- Work with a senior product engineer to set up the gating, investing, casting, and heat treat instructions for new aluminum castings.
- Provide the necessary technical support as required to other areas of the organization.
- Active participant in Sample, New Part Introduction and design review meetings.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- *Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
- Meet established attendance standards.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
- 3 – 5 years of experience. Investment casting industry is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and drawing interpretation.
- Basic understanding of cast products and processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and address any customer concerns.
- Solid communications skills, both written and verbal.
