Senior Software Engineer – Lead Real-Time Navigation Solutions! For our client Honeywell in Clearwater, FL.
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer for a remote role supporting the full lifecycle development of real-time, safety-critical navigational software for aerospace applications. This position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on coding skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded real-time software for navigation systems.
Decompose requirements and define work assignments.
Develop software architecture and code for real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Perform integration, system activities, unit testing, and coordinate external verification and validation.
Support factory deployment and provide technical assistance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety and certification standards.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
7+ years of experience in software engineering using C/C++.
U.S. Citizenship (single citizenship required).
Hands-on experience with:
Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS and low-level drivers/HAL elements.
Hardware bring-up and complex conditional build environments.
IMU for motion and ranging/aiming functions.
Familiarity with BitBucket/Jira toolset and Visual Code toolchain.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GPS (M-Code), Kalman Filter implementation, and inertial sensor usage.
Knowledge of software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall).
Experience in mission-critical or safety-critical environments.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Pay Details: $90.00 per hour
