Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $80.11-$85.11/Hour

Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. Responsibilities:

• Define, develop, and sustain enhancements to the MUOS (Mobile User Objective System), a live DoD satellite communication system.

• Serve as a key member of a cross-functional team spanning systems, software, hardware, and integration disciplines.

• Lead and support efforts across the systems development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, interface definition, and system validation.

• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to design and manage complex systems.

• Ensure system solutions meet warfighter communication needs, with scalability and resilience.

• Utilize tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or similar to manage requirements and model system behavior.

• Collaborate in an Agile environment to continuously evolve and integrate new system capabilities.

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership, promoting innovation and cross-team success.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field (Master’s preferred).

• 8+ years of experience in system engineering roles, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.

• Strong background in systems engineering for software and hardware integration.

• Experience working with DoD systems, ideally involving space, satellite, or communications infrastructure.

• Familiarity with requirements management and system modeling tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, SysML).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3G/5G communication systems or telephony technologies.

• Strong knowledge of core networking and ground communication systems.

• Hands-on experience in MBSE methodologies and tools.

• Proven success leading system development efforts through all lifecycle phases.

• Skilled in negotiating technical solutions to meet challenging customer requirements.

• Deep understanding of technology trends, with a proactive mindset for innovation and improvement.

• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and technical mentorship.

• On-site presence or limited travel may be required based on project needs.
