Job Title: Chief InspectorJob DescriptionEnsure that all inspections are properly performed on completed work and that the relevant inspection records, reports, and forms are timely executed before aircraft are released for return to service. Coordinate with the FAA Certificate Holding District Office and other Federal Aviation Administration offices regarding Quality Assurance issues. Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components, providing continuity of inspection responsibility, and assuring completion of required inspections when personnel shifts or assignment changes occur. Evaluate and process changes in inspection and maintenance and avionics policies and procedures. Ensure contractors performing work on aircraft or appliances comply with applicable FARs and company policies and procedures. Oversee the final acceptance of all incoming raw material, including new parts and supplies, and the airworthiness of articles worked on outside company maintenance by contract.
Responsibilities
- Perform all inspections on completed work, ensuring proper execution of inspection records, reports, and forms.
- Coordinate with FAA offices regarding Quality Assurance issues.
- Oversee tagging and identification of all parts and components.
- Provide continuity of inspection responsibility during personnel shifts or assignment changes.
- Evaluate and process changes in inspection, maintenance, and avionics policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance of contractors with applicable FARs and company policies.
- Oversee the acceptance and airworthiness of incoming raw materials and contracted work.
Essential Skills- A&P license with Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Experience in general aviation, helicopters, and specific aircraft such as Airbus, Sikorsky, Leonardo, S76, AW109, AS350
- Prior experience with FAA Part 145 Rotorcraft Repair Station
- Experience in coordinating with FAA offices for Quality Assurance issues
- Experience in submitting failure, malfunction, or defect reports in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145.22
Additional Skills & Qualifications- A&P Certified Mechanic with IA
- Experience with inspection processes in general aviation and specific aircraft models
