Director - AIRCRAFT maintenance (full time salaried w/ benefits)

Primary work location is on-site in Killeen, TX or Albuquerque, NM. However, position will require regular travel to the location that is not the primary work site (Albuquerque, NM or Killeen, TX) and other aircraft maintenance bases in the domestic United States. Travel is expected to be approximately 25-50%. Relocation assistance may be available.

Job Summary

Director of Maintenance (DOM) for a Part 135 certificated commercial air carrier.  Manage an FAA approved air carrier maintenance program, including authorities related to “ten or more” operations and DoD (CARB) approved operations. Ensure compliance with company maintenance program requirements and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).  Control delegated maintenance authority at company bases and contract vendor facilities.

Essential Tasks/Functions:

• Plan, organize, or manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
• Direct activities related to maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft and maintaining related company tooling and equipment.
• Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and government regulations.
• Fiscal responsibility for maintenance department.
• Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets.
• Promote safe work activities and policies by supporting safety audits, meetings, and company staff that keep safety at the forefront of all operations.
• Negotiate, authorize, or monitor fulfillment of contracts with service, equipment and materials suppliers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Position held for three of the past six years must have involved managing maintenance for a certificated Part 121 or Part 135 commercial air carrier. Prior “hands on” Aircraft Mechanic Experience. Experience maintaining turbo-prop aircraft. Experience with modern avionics. Prior aviation QA/QC system experience.

Education: AA

Professional Licensure: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
Background: Must pass a background investigation and drug screening test.

Computer Skills: Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point, and aircraft maintenance tracking systems such as Veryon.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:  BS/BA
Professional Licensure/Certifications: FAA Inspector Authorization (IA). Prior aircraft run up authorization.

Background: King Air series aircraft maintainer in government and civilian markets.

Training: Trained on Beechcraft King Air and/or Beech 1900 series aircraft and Pratt & Whitney Engines.

Experience:  Maintenance management for a DoD (CARB) approved commercial air carrier. Military, Aviation Industry, Air Ambulance configured aircraft maintenance (including MEDEVAC/CASEVAC), ISR configured aircraft maintenance.
