Job Description:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for our aerospace customers. You will play a critical role in leading and driving the mechanical design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products.

You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of the Mississauga, ON location.

In this role, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge in developing innovative and cost-effective electronic packaging solutions for a variety of aerospace-related products. You will design products that not only meet customer requirements, but also meet product quality and manufacturability targets. You will be supporting a variety of projects including new product development, product improvement, process improvement, prototype builds, qualification testing and factory support.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP security clearance.


Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
  • Perform a variety of analyses, including structural, thermal, and durability.
  • Perform cost estimation and labour estimates.
  • Perform CAD based modeling.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design.

WE VALUE

  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with electronics packaging.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace applications.
