Job Description
Join a high-speed aircraft manufacturer that specializes in the rapid design, build, and testing of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft. As a Welder, you will work alongside experienced machinists, engineers, and technicians in a high-volume cutting and metal forming shop. This role offers the chance to engage in CNC operations, manual water jet operations, CNC bending, and manual forming for next-generation aerospace development vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of laser cutting and water jet operations to deliver high-precision components.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models with digital work instructions to assist in aerospace parts production.
- Operate metal forming equipment such as brake presses, shears, English wheels, rollers, and drill presses.
- Aid in in-process inspection and measurement of parts using precision hand tools ensuring aerospace industry standards.
- Assist with machine setup and basic maintenance, including cleaning and tool changes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and standards when operating machinery and handling materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate task completion.
- Assist in documenting production processes, measurements, and quality control checks.
Essential Skills
- Basic knowledge of machining processes and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in basic math and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork capability.
- Interest in aerospace manufacturing and technology.
- Problem-solving skills and initiative to improve processes.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, physically demanding environment.
- Proactive, flexible, and adaptable attitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a development manufacturing environment.
- Experience with laser cutting systems and understanding of their functionality.
- Experience in metal forming precision components with complex geometries.
- Experience with drilling, riveting, and upsizing of holes.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and think creatively.
- Must be a U.S. person.

Work Environment
The work environment is partially climate controlled, with large fans to manage summer heat. Tools are provided, and the atmosphere is highly collaborative, fostering teamwork.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $39.00/hr.
