GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Government Accounting Manager to our join the Defense & Systems Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting executive leadership with the strategic design & Implementation of a new CAS segment inclusive of government accounting rate structures, overseeing complex rate analysis models to analyze the economic impacts of various changes, ensure compliance, optimize performance, while maximizing financial recovery within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of government accounting practices, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of detailed data analytic models to support government contract accounting, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other government regulations.
- Support strategic financial planning and analysis related to government CAS structure, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with government accounting requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in government regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and competitive advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in government accounting or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other relevant government regulations.
- Strong analytical and data modeling skills, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage teams, and drive process improvements.
- Must be a US citizen due to government contract requirements.
- Must be willing to obtain & hold a US DoD active clearance
