JOB DESCRIPTION:
YOUR ROLE AS AN MANAGER, GSA SALES
A GSA Manager is responsible for managing and growing the commercial performance of an airline, travel brand , or tourism company through appointed General Sales Agent in a spanet. The role focuses on sales strategy, spanet expansion, revenue growth, partnership management and operational coordination, at the same time establishing the branding and reputation of AirAsia in a foreign ground.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute spanet sales strategies to achieve revenue, passenger & load factor targets.
- Drive sales performance through travel agencies, OTAs, and trade partners.
- Monitor spanet trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
Relationship Management
- Manage relationships and conduct regular business reviews with GSAs & key partners, including performance review with GSA against agreed KPI and sales targets
- Negotiate commercial agreements, incentives, and joint spaneting campaigns.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Ensure GSAs maintain service quality, reporting accuracy, and brand standards
Market Development
- Analyze local spanet demand and customer behavior.
- Recommend route opportunities, promotional strategies, and seasonal campaigns.
- Collaborate with spaneting teams on brand visibility and trade engagement initiatives.
Operational Coordination
- Coordinate with internal departments such as revenue management, operations, finance, and customer service.
- Ensure GSAs comply with company standards, policies, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor booking performance, sales pipelines, and operational KPIs.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Prepare sales forecasts, spanet intelligence reports, and performance presentations.
- Track KPIs including revenue, yield, conversion, and agency productivity.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Aviation, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in airline sales, travel industry, OTA, or commercial partnerships.
- Strong understanding of airline distribution, BSP, and travel trade ecosystem.
- Proven track record in sales growth and account management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, Google Suite, CRM and reporting tools)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving targets
