Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prioritise safety in all manufacturing test and calibration processes to ensure a safe working environment
- Hold accountability for developing a strategic view of TE lifecycle management within the supply chain, including transition of Test Equipment from NPI to production acceptance via the necessary Toll Gate and Factory Test Acceptance (FTR) processes
- Provide leadership to the Manufacturing Test Engineering, TE response, Calibration and Cable manufacturing functional leads ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
- Define KPI’s to measure productivity and performance for each of the areas of responsibility, utilise FLIGHTDECK to drive improvement initiatives where required
- Develop functional strategy for TE response and MTE teams including how these functions align and complement each other
- Hold TE sustainment group accountable for resolution of technical debt, ensure robust problem solving is applied where investigations are required
- Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities for all team members
Required Qualifications:
This role requires significant experience in Calibration and Manufacturing test systems management and control whilst maintaining high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering) or equivalent knowledge based on experience through previous roles
- Several years of experience in test engineering, calibration, or related fields
- Proven track record of leading teams and managing test and calibration processes in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of test systems, equipment, and methodologies
- Knowledge of calibration standards and practices
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to implement and sustain lean practices to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Familiarity with lean principles such as Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri.
Desirable Characteristics:
- Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Certifications related to calibration or test engineering.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and challenges.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
