Position Summary:
Experienced Quality Manager with progressive experience in aerospace and metals manufacturing, including over 5 years of successfully leading teams and delivering measurable quality outcomes. Provides strategic direction and oversight for quality systems, driving quality systems compliance standards while fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement. Leads cross-functional collaboration to address root causes, improve yield, and enhance product and process quality. Proven track record in developing and mentoring high-performing teams, managing KPIs, and aligning quality initiatives with operational and customer objectives. Skilled in supplier quality management, audit readiness, and implementing data-driven quality strategies that support business growth and regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Translate divisional quality objectives into site-specific plans.
Develop and implement the site quality roadmap and improvement initiatives.
Lead regular quality reviews with site leadership and production teams.
Identify risks to quality goals and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure alignment between quality goals and production targets. - Oversees the daily task assignments of direct reports as well as supervise and prioritizes tasks as necessary to assure schedule compliance.
- Manages and oversees all inspections of parts, investigates non-conformances, initiates, implements, and coordinates corrective and preventative actions as appropriate.
- Performs Interface with inspection and manufacturing personnel on technical issues, specification requirements, inspection methods and scheduling.
- Maintain and improve the site’s QMS to meet compliance and internal standards.
Ensure quality procedures and records are controlled, current, and accessible.
Coordinate internal audits and lead the response to findings.
Facilitate management reviews and continuous improvement of the QMS.
Ensure all quality documentation supports readiness for external audits. - Reviews and approves all revisions to internal process procedures and Quality system procedures to assure that documentation meets current regulatory and customer requirements. (I.e. NADCAP and AS9100).
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Host and manage customer, registrar, and regulatory audits at the site.
Ensure timely closure of all audit findings and compliance actions.
Maintain product and process traceability systems.
Train staff on regulatory and customer quality requirements. - Analyze scrap, rework, and defect trends to prioritize improvement actions.
Lead structured problem-solving (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) with cross-functional teams.
Implement standard work, process controls, and mistake-proofing where needed.
Monitor and respond to in-process inspection and final audit data.
Ensure timely execution of corrective and preventive actions - Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company goals, policies and procedures.
- Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and corrective/preventative actions being taken to assure continuous process improvement.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
- Manage all site-level customer complaints and quality escalations.
Lead root cause investigations and develop corrective action reports.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement and verify solutions.
Communicate effectively with customer quality contacts on resolution status.
Monitor repeat issues and trends to drive systemic fixes. - Track KPIs and customer complaints.
Maintain quality dashboards visible to site teams and management.
Use data to drive discussions in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
Highlight wins and areas for improvement through performance reports.
Escalate performance concerns and propose action plans to leadership. - Collaborate with Operations to embed quality into daily routines.
Partner with Engineering on process changes, validations, and NPI launches.
Coordinate with Maintenance to manage equipment-related quality issues.
Support Supply Chain with incoming material quality investigations.
Participate in tiered daily management meetings across departments. - Support inspection of incoming materials and manage nonconformance handling.
Ensure timely communication and resolution of supplier quality issues.
Collaborate with Purchasing and SQEs on supplier improvement plans.
Monitor trends in supplier defects and escalation thresholds.
Validate supplier corrective actions and their effectiveness. - Lead multiple teams or a large team, driving strategic alignment of individual and team goals with business objectives.
Implement leadership development initiatives to build future leaders.
Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging knowledge sharing and process improvement. - Decision-making is focused on short-term and mid-term objectives. Solves complex problems requiring expertise and critical thinking. Leads teams focused on improvement opportunities.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and costs.
- Understand/use techniques for effective control of delivered quality, cost, and schedule in the manufacture of aerospace machined parts
- Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership, teaming; and production methods.
- Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
- Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels.
- Ability to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- 5-7+ years of Aerospace experience
- 2+ years in a leadership role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager Preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $135000 to $165000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the companys medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
