What You Will Do:  
We are seeking a talented and experienced Security Manager to join our team in East Hartford, CT. The Security Manager will serve as the primary security point of contact for all U.S.-based F135 maintenance facilities, ensuring compliance with contractual security requirements and supporting the integration and sustainment of security operations. This role will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and effectively collaborate with government customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary security liaison for all U.S.-based F135 maintenance facilities.  

  • Ensure the successful execution of contractual security requirements at designated sites.  

  • Oversee site inspection schedules and enforce security operating procedures.  

  • Coordinate visit requests and act as the primary liaison with U.S. government local security offices for security procedure implementation.  

  • Maintain and manage a library of security processes, instructions, standard work, and training materials used at F135 maintenance facilities.  

  • Develop and manage F135 Security Team metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).  

  • Provide measurable input to new products, processes, or standards to align with business strategies.  

  • Support global security requirements and provide technical guidance to ensure organizational compliance.  

  • Display strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to meet the immediate needs of customers and team members.  

  • Collaborate with P&W suppliers and host-nation defense forces to manage security operations at overseas facilities, including future facility activations as needed.  

  • Develop and implement U.S. government technology control and security requirements at selected sites.  

  • Counsel and influence internal and external stakeholders, including governments, to ensure adherence to security and program-specific requirements.  

  • Travel up to 20 domestically and internationally to support military installation sites.  

 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Advanced degree and 5+ years of Industrial Security, Cybersecurity, Government (DoD), Law Enforcement or Military experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant industry or military experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry or military experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

 

 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance current within the last five years

  • 3+ years’ experience with U.S. Government security requirements, policies, manuals and instructions.

  • Understanding of government contracts

  • Understanding of U.S. import/export control regulations including Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • Knowledge of or direct experience working with jet engine production or depot operations

  • Experience in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, standard work and training packages

  • Project management experience and ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision

  • Understanding of continuous improvement principles and tools (CORE/ACE/Six Sigma/LEAN).

  • Experience using MS Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and influence leadership, peers, and cross-functional teams

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
