Your Impact
As a Senior Flightline Operations Manager (Level L) in Delivery Center Operations, you will lead frontline manufacturing leaders and flightline teams responsible for delivering the 787 Dreamliner—one of the most technologically advanced aircraft ever built.
This is a variable shift position in North Charleston, South Carolina. You will translate strategic production goals into disciplined execution on the flightline—while building a culture grounded in safety, quality, accountability, and pride.
You will:
Lead, motivate, and inspire flightline operations managers and teams responsible for delivering the world’s most advanced commercial aircraft
Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
Build and develop exceptional leaders, strengthening Boeing’s leadership pipeline for the future
Partner closely with Customers, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Leadership to achieve production milestones
Champion continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and operational innovation
Help position Boeing South Carolina for increased production rates and long-term growth
Ensure air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, pre-flight and post-flight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery to the customer
Collaborate with flight crews, engineering, quality, suppliers, business operations, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance
Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures
Provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of aerospace, manufacturing, or equivalent military experience
3+ years of aircraft Flight Line experience
3+ years of leadership experience managing teams
Demonstrated ability to lead across organizations and influence outcomes
Decision-making capability in complex, dynamic environments
Willingness and ability to work any shift to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of hands-on experience with airplane production, maintenance and systems or possess an A&P or Repairman Certificate
Aerospace manufacturing and live aircraft experience, ideally flight test or functional test
Commercial airplane manufacturer experience or directly working with airplane customers
Proven success leading Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience leading through production ramp-ups, operational transformation, or growth environments
Track record of building high-engagement, high-performance teams
Experience with any of the following: avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, functional test knowledge, release, ticket experience, manufacturing, and/or structures

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift. The current expectation is hiring for 2nd shift.

Pay & Benefits:

Summary pay range: $144,500 - $195,500
