Weekend Operations Leader : Lead weekend operations for the Liners, Shroud, and Nozzle production business unit at the Asheville CMC site, supporting end-of-week to start-of-week tasks. This role will oversee two Operations Team Leads and provide dotted-line support to cross-functional teams, including Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering. The position spans four days (Friday–Monday) and focuses on ensuring safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity on the shop floor. You will demonstrate the ability to influence a cross-functional team to achieve all measures associated with component manufacturing while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and respect for people in a teaming environment. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Manage weekend operations for the Liners, Shroud, and Nozzle business unit to achieve defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. Lead, coach, and manage a team of salaried and hourly employees across multiple shifts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a leadership style that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and respect for people. Ensure business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Operations Team Leads from other shifts and cross-functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, Engineering) to meet customer delivery requirements and operational goals.
  • Industrialization & NPI: Own industrialization, rate attainment plans, and NPI launches for the Liners, Shroud, and Nozzle areas of CMC manufacturing.
  • Problem Solving: Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational management, manufacturing, and technology. Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and provide recommendations.
  • Communication: Present project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders. Communicate difficult concepts and influence others’ opinions on particular topics.
  • Project Leadership: May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Provide input to business programs encompassing part of a function or a business unit and to midterm plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations Management.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and a track record of successful implementation.
  • Ability to use data in an industrial setting to drive outcomes within the plant.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and develop others to do the same.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects and document, plan, market, and execute them.
  • Established project management skills.
