In this role, you operate, maintain, and optimize advanced machinery systems involving pneumatics, fluid systems, chemicals, mechanical systems, instrumentation, robots, and touchscreen HMIs. You play a critical role in ensuring reliable, high-quality production of components that directly support space exploration and human advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee complex mechanical systems used in the manufacturing of heat shield tiles for advanced aerospace applications.
  • Take full ownership of the production line’s uptime, output, quality, and continuous improvement, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Interface with digital control systems and touchscreen HMI panels to monitor, adjust, and optimize production performance in real time.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems to ensure consistent and reliable line performance.
  • Interpret and work from detailed work instructions, P&ID schematics, and other technical documentation to execute tasks accurately.
  • Conduct precision system changeovers and equipment setups with minimal downtime to maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitor and adjust critical process variables to meet stringent quality and performance standards in a high-spec manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of machine settings, production output, maintenance activities, and process adjustments.
  • Support the integration, testing, and ramp-up of new equipment and upgrades in close collaboration with engineering and R&D teams.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing or mechatronics.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems used in high-volume production environments.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation relevant to automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Practical experience with fluid power systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics, in a production or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in working with touchscreen HMI interfaces, including interpreting control feedback, system status, and alarms.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply P&ID schematics and related technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive the performance of complex machinery or production cells, including uptime and quality.
  • Experience with production, machine operation, and manufacturing processes in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems under time-sensitive conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Aerospace-related manufacturing or exposure to highly regulated, high-spec production environments.
  • Experience working with robotics or automated machinery in a production line setting.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices focused on optimizing uptime, throughput, and quality.
  • Comfort working with chemicals and fluid systems in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation habits for recording machine settings, maintenance, and process changes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and R&D teams during equipment integration and process optimization.

Why Work Here?

Join a forward-looking organization that operates in a clean, highly regulated, and technologically advanced environment dedicated to supporting space exploration. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge manufacturing processes while collaborating closely with engineering and R&D teams.
